The Livid Instruments design team (and founders) Jay Smith, Peter Nyboer, and Travis Redding combined their interests in multimedia performance, alternative music controllers, and custom guitar making into a design that radically changes the market of digital media controllers.



Their unique talents compliment the needed elements that make up the Ohm: Jay's experience touring as the "viditar" player for the rock band Sinch and setting up performances for world touring acts, Peter's studies in electronic music composition and multimedia software programming, and Travis' virtuosity with mechanics and woodwork. All of this is emulsified with a shared interest in production processes and a highly motivated sense of "getting things done." Working on the three coasts of the United States – east, west, and gulf – their geographical dispersion has been a benefit than hinderance, informed by the variety of scenes, knowledge, and cultures that the US has to offer.
